Laptop Buying Guide

Hello Viewers !!

In this pandemic/lockdown lots of people are working from home to do work from home they required laptops some of them have a laptop with good features but not all of the have a laptop with good features or some don't even have a laptop. Now a days lots of people are thinking to by a new laptop but they don't have a proper knowledge about laptop. So in this post we are going to cover all the necessary points that you should know before buying a laptop.

Points we are going to cover

  • Price range
  • Laptop Brand
  • Processor Selection
  • RAM Type
  • ROM Type
  • Display Info
  • Keyboard
  • Ports

Price Range

before going to buy a laptop you should decide your price range. Price range of your laptop depends most because your price range decide which best processor come under your range and all other specification of laptop. In this we divide price range in for categories
  1. 10k - 20k
  2. 20k - 30k
  3. 30k -40k
  4. 40k - more than 50k
before buying laptop choose your price range from above or decide maximum price you can pay for a new laptop.

Laptop Brand

Once you decide price range the next step is select laptop brand because brand matters for after sell services that means brand have a galleries near your residential area or not or its also matter when you want to claim warranty.
some popular and trusted brand : DELL , ASUS , HP , ACER, LENOVO .

Processor Selection

After you select the laptop brand its time to select a processor. To choose a processor we have to remember some points this points are Which Brand Laptop Processor To Be Select ? Which Processor To Be Select ?

Which brand laptop processor to select ?

There are majorly two processor brand acquired all market of laptop processor building i.e  INTEL or AMD. If you want to do some office work or want to do some projects then you should go with the Intel processor. But you want to do some little bit of  gaming then you should select AMD. Because AMD have there own graphics card which are little bit batter then Intel Integrated graphics card.
Once you select a processor brand now time to select the which processor you want or that processor should be within your price range or not ?  Here below is a table with best processor in price range which you can select.

Price Range Intel Processor AMD Processor
10k-20k  Pentium Dual Core  AMD Dual Core A6
20k-30k  Intel Core i3  AMD Ryzen 3
30k-40k  Intel Core i5  AMD Ryzen 5
40k-more than 50k  Intel Core i7,i8 or i9  AMD  Ryzen 7

Now you have a question what is the processor generation ? Which should you select ?
  • Each year processor building company upgrade there same processor i.e they increase there battery saving or make processor to consume less battery and process faster than previous one so I will suggest you always buy a latest generation or previous generation.
  • You should always select latest generation . If it not in your price range then select old generation.

Another Question Arise IN Your Mind What Is Quad Core Or Octa Core Processor ?
  • Basically cores are the small CPUs present in the bigger one and quad means 4 and octa means 8.
  • Quad core processor means we have a processor i.e main CPU with four small CPU which work simultaneously and do all the task in lesser time.
  • Select processor according to your price range you can select any of them .If you select processor with more number of cores it might get costly for you.
  • If you need further more info about processor you can google it.
  • Now we all done with the processor now we have to move to RAM.
RAM Type
  • RAM (random-access memory) is a hardware device that allows information to be stored and retrieved on a computer. ... If the computer is turned off, all data contained in RAM is lost.
  • We basically have the DDR ram in our laptops.
  • So what is DDR ?The next generation of SDRAM is DDR, which achieves greater bandwidth than the preceding single data rate SDRAM by transferring data on the rising and falling edges of the clock signal (double pumped). Effectively, it doubles the transfer rate without increasing the frequency of the clock.
  • I am personally refer to buy a laptop which support DDR4. So it will be easy for you to upgrade RAM in future.
  • Now currently we also have a option of DDR5  but it get costly to buy DDR5 laptops.
ROM Type
  •  ROM is an acronym for Read-Only Memory. It refers to computer memory chips containing permanent or semi-permanent data. Unlike RAM, ROM is non-volatile; even after you turn off your computer, the contents of ROM will remain. Almost every computer comes with a small amount of ROM containing the boot firmware.
  • There are two types of ROM come under Laptop 1. HDD 2.SDD
  • What Is HDD ? A hard disk drive (HDD), hard diskhard drive, or fixed disk is an electro-mechanical data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data using one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic material.
  • What Is SSD ? A solid-state drive (SSD) is a solid-state storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies to store data persistently, typically using flash memory, and functioning as secondary storage in the hierarchy of computer storage. SSDs store data in semiconductor cells.
  • HDD have cost less then SDD i.e laptop with HDD are less expensive then SSD.
  • If you want more storage and booting time is not necessary for you so you can go with HDD.
  • SSD have the less storage.
  • If you want less storage capacity but fast booting time then you can go with SSD
  • It's up to you what you choose.

Display Info

  • Display is the main factor of laptop you can see all visuals i ages and video on display so you should select a good display laptop.
  • There are two types of laptop displays 1.TFT[Thin Film Transistor] 2.LED[Light Emitting Diode  ]
  • I refer you to select LCD LED display type because it have a more viewing angle . Most of LCD LED display have a viewing angle of 175-179 degree i.e you can clearly see image or video from any angle  but in TFT displays you cant see images and video clear from all angles if you try to do this then you see all thing black shaded
  • Its up to you to select Display type according to your budget.

Keyboard Info

  • Keyboard is important to give an input to CPU
  • There are two type of keyboard 1.Chiclet Keyboard 2.Backlight Keyboard
  • Chiclet keyboard have a metal panel below keyboard which protect your laptops mother board from any type of external force.
  • Backlight keyboard is the keyboard have a LED light behind the keyboard which is good to use in the dark condition. Mostly gamers prefer Backlight keyboards.
  • So it's up to you to choose which type of keyboard you want.

Graphic Cards

  • mostly the lowest range and midrange laptops don't have a dedicated graphics card but they have the integrated graphics card which is not prefer for a gaming. If you want to play high end game in your laptop so i will suggest you to go with dedicated graphics card
  • If you want graphics card so you should select NVIDIA graphics card  of 2GB  its sufficient to run games in your laptops.
Ports

  • USB 3.0 X 1 *
  • SD-card reader
  • Kingstone Lock
  • CD-Drive
  • M.2 Slot *
